RE: Company Roladex on Exchange 5.5

If you
open up MS Access 2000 or higher theres actually an option to populate an
exchange servers PF(under the import/export) . You could populate it manually or
some of my vb guys wrote some simple scripts to keep it going. Im pretty sure
with odbc stuff you could push about anything into the exchange db's

  Hmm,
you could just make an exchange connector to the database (sql, access, act
maybe??) that houses the initial list :).

  If
you wanted to put these right into the GAL you could make a 'contact' in e2k,
and a custom recipent, smtp address in the recipent container on
  5.5

What sucks of course is if your customer info constantly
changes. Then you have to change them twice - in whatever database you
have and the PF.

Absolutely! Create a new public folder that is "Contacts" and
make it read only to everyone that only needs to read it give write
permission to the people that need to make changes/add
contacts.

How do I create a company roladex on Exchange 5.5 server
that contains both internal users and external
customers contacts that can be accessed by
everyone in the company. This should be different from the GAL.

RE: Packet filtering stops SMTP

2001-11-10 Thread Jennifer Gaylor

Ok, Ok, so I read the manual and it talks about static packet filtering if
the Exchange server is on the same server as your Proxy. So I read some
more and Microsoft article Q181420 is a good article for Exchange on
separate servers. Try it. Also, if static packet filtering is enabled on
the NIC through Network NPropertiesProtocols, Enable security, IP
ports and add 80, 110, and 25. And then these ports are removed from the
exception list in Dynamic Packet filtering under Proxy server, will this
override the dynamic opening and closing of ports by Proxy server because
it is at a lower level so to speak??
When dynamic packet filtering is enabled and the exception list is set up,
are the exceptions entered allowed dynamic access or static access?
I have set up exceptions for ports 80, 110 and 25 for both in and out
connections and it didn't work. In the reading it says you must disable
dynamic packet filtering and enable static, but does not specify if that
is disable dynamic packet filtering altogether

RE: OWA through Netscape

Yes he does. Only IE does NT Challenge/Response. Every other browser
requires Basic Authentication (plain text).

I think so. But since he is using NS, I think he needs to use clear text
anyhoo.

Yabbut - doesn't that only work if you are using Basic Authentication?
I.e. clear text passwords?

What about setting the default domain in IIS. Then nobody should need to
enter domain info.

Hello,
How does one long onto Exchange OWA through a Netscape client?
When I try it I receive a user name: and a Password box. The Domain
entry box is missing. Without this the Exchange server is unable to
authenticate.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
