RE : Multiple SMTP reply addresses
Ok i found itbut needs to have effectively multiple smtp addresses filled in outlook to work Sorry for polluting the list -Message d'origine- De : AGUIAR John [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Envoyé : mardi 5 mars 2002 18:54 À : MS-Exchange Admin Issues Objet : RE: Multiple SMTP reply addresses Well, one of the fields they can work with from within the client (Outlook) is the from field. Set that up and let them select which account the outbound message is from. We have that configured here for some users and it works well. (i.e [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]), thats fine and I can do this with within their mailbox settings. The problem is they also need to be able to reply to incoming message using either address, and this is where I've come un-stuck. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. (even if it's just to say it's not possible!) MDB DATA FOLDER
Greetings All Sorry to sound like a bit of a novice, but each day our Exchange 2000 creates one or more files within //exchsrvr/mdbdata. They are named similar to E*.txt and are approximately 5MB in size. I can open the files using NOTEPAD but they just seem to contain jibberish. Can you tell me if these files can be deleted from time to time and what purpose they serve? Hehehe, No prob on the novice dude, but you really need to read up on exchange. How did you get stuck administering this box? Those are called transaction logs. Simple in short, they are part of a disaster recovery and database consistency routine that is very common in db server type applications. Don't mess with them, they are committed in full to the db when you do an online backup. Good luck, HTH. jlc -Original Message- From: Chris McNab [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, March 06, 2002 10:46 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: MDB DATA FOLDER Greetings All Sorry to sound like a bit of a novice, but each day our Exchange 2000 creates one or more files within //exchsrvr/mdbdata. RE: MDB DATA FOLDER
Oh yea, and I think you mean they are in the format E***.log for example, not E*.txt. jlc -Original Message- From: Joe L. RE: MDB DATA FOLDER
Don't touch them if you don't have too. However, on e2k I have a couple servers that will be fine all week and in a few hours the log files will take 20gigs of space. Not sure what the workaround was so I just enabled circular logging.. All seems well after that..
