Re: Exch2007 backups
You might want to check with ArcServe to see if there is an agent specifically for Exchange that you need. BackupExec has agents for specific backup types that you have to purchase in addition to the base application. That agent tells BE how to talk to Exchange, or SQL, or Sharepoint, etc. On Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 6:33 PM, David blazer...@gmail.com wrote: We're having difficulty on a just-converted Notes to Exchange 2007 install -- ArcServe backups are killing us. RE: Exch2007 backups
ARCserve with the Exchange agent should work fine for you, just don't backup at the mailbox level. Configure the agent to do database backups. You'll lose the ability to restore individual mailbox items, but your backups should be dramatically faster. The same is true with Backup Exec. That is correct Roger, I've not done mailbox level backups in years. Recovery Storage Group is your friend in the event that you need to recover something from a mailbox. Mailbox move question
Exchange 2003 running on server 2003 a number of mailboxes were moved to a new store all seemed well. Now one mailbox appears in both stores: in the old store it appears it is ready to be purged, if one attempts that it fails saying it has been reconnected to a user. It has not been logged into for some time and is clear that all activity is happening in the new store. Additional clue when the users logs into outlook 2007 they are asked if they want to use their temporary mailbox or their old one with a warning that using the old one will not allow them to send mail, etc. To my knowledge they have never connected to the old mailbox How does one clean this up? thanks This email and any attached files are confidential and intended solely for the intended recipient(s). Changing default address format
I need to change our company's e-mail format from: firstinitiallastn...@domain to firstname.lastn...@domain. I need to leave the original in place as a secondary for a period of time for the transition. I know the variables I want are %g.%s, but here's my question: Do I need to edit the existing default recipient policy and add the new format as a new SMTP address, and make it the default, or should I create a new recipient policy for it? Also, when I enter the new address format, do I just put in the %g.%s, or do I enter %g...@domain? BES upgrade to 5.0
I saw a post a week or so back but didn't see a lot of response. Am thinking about upgrading my BES server to the new 5.0 version for Exchange. Anyone do this and run into trouble so far? RE: BES upgrade to 5.0
I was wondering the same thing. I am have problems with my 4.1.4 and will be doing patching tonight. I have latency, and calendar problems. I have checked cdo and mapi dll files and same version of exchange. Cannot figure it out seems to be only happening to the exec that are in there own mail store and they do have large email stores. Hoping this fixes it cause they are missing appointments. It's on my to-do list as well for this summer. I thought I read you can bring up a second BES server and just copy users over one at a time with no down-time? Sounds much easier... Jon . ~ Ninja Email Security with Cloudmark Spam Engine Gets Image Spam ~ ~ http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Ninja~
