RE: 2 IMS
yes your surmise is almost right benjamin,thanx...But the question is now, can i devote the SMTP server which was constructed just for a product(the product pulls mail to the SMTP server using java packet)?..Another words, can i devote the SMTP server just for one IP address client and one mailbox?..I don't want the SMTP server to accept any other messages inside all the organization except from the IP address?.. We have a couple of customers who use AS/400s in call centers and the ibm can generate like newsletters, billing, and some other nice things by pulling the customers email and moving on. The easiest way for us to do it was to simply allow relay from the ibm to our smtp and everything passed through. interesting IMS issue, your comment pls?..
hi, Configuration:EXC. 5.5 with SP4 org. on MS NT Srvs. with SP6a IMS installed on W2K and it is closed to OPEN RELAY,however 5 servers IPs are permitted to be able to relay mail!.. (I can relay mail from these 5 servers which need to relay for a special project.) When i want to send an e-mail to some e-mail address via TELNET SMTP connection,i can't achive this because of relay restriction despite of IP exclusion!.. On the aother hand, when i send an e-mail to these e-mail addresses in the internet via MAPI which is MS OUTLOOK,there is no problem!.. How would you comment this situation?.. how IMS performance implemented?..
hi, i have really good questions;i'm not a real proffessional :( I have just an IMS for Exchnage 5.5 installed on a W2K server.Total Mailbox number in our unique site is 3000+.My users send excessively lots of mail out from intranet to the internet.Although our internet output is 1 Mbps,IMS queue is stucking extremely in business hours especially. So,the questions are, What can i do to improve the performance of IMS? Can i use more than one IMS in the EXC. 5.5 organization for aiming load balance?..If yes,how can i implement more than one IMS,for example may i use 3 IMS just for outbound at the same time on 3 EXC.5.5 servers?..
