Exchange Administrator
I can't believe I actually have a question for this world renowned group! I hope I don't embarrass myself too much... A member of our staff is in the process of developing forms to be used with Outlook, and needs to occasionally publish forms to the Organization. In the past, I have just logged in as the network administrator to accomplish this task for him. Is there a way to grant his account permission to publish forms to the Exchange Server? Exchange 5.5 Incorrect Mailbox Size Reported
Good afternoon, I am having a problem with Microsoft Exchange (5.5 - SP3) reporting a different mailbox size than what Outlook is reporting. If I go to properties on the user's mailbox, it reports a size of @ 133MEGS. If I go through the list of the individual objects in the mailbox and add them up, I come up with @ 37MEGS. Has anyone experienced this type of problem? Any solutions, besides recreating the mailbox? Thanks for the reply. RE: Contact Entry List Problem
Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately he is a laptop user - not running a Palm Pilot. I'll check for the Private listing. Thanks. -Original Message- From: Jim Holmgren [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 7:32 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Contact Entry List Problem Is he by any chance running a Palm Pilot? I've seen issues where older versions of Intelli-synch (I think that's what its called) mark all of a person's contacts as Private and no one else can see them. Check a few of his contacts for the private checkbox. Its located in the very lower right-hand corner of the main contact info page. -Jim Jim Holmgren MCSE, CCNA [EMAIL PROTECTED] Network Engineer Advertising.com We bring innovation to interactive communication. RE: Antivirus add-ons for Exchange 5.5 - trends/nav
We are also using Antigen and it DEFINITELY ROCKS!!! We previously had McAfee installed on the Exchange box. Before removing McAfee we ran a complete scan and had it clean the server. We installed Antigen, ran the scan, and found 800 viruses that McAfee had missed. I think you'll be very satisfied with the product. -Original Message- From: John Riley [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 11, 2002 9:26 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Re: Antivirus add-ons for Exchange 5.5 - trends/nav Trends is always a top product. Here we use Antigen and it's super--it's an Exchange server only product and it rocks I am not sure there is an issue using two different virus products. I'd be interested to see what others have to say. Our Exchange server currently does NOT have an Antivirus add-on installed. I would like to see some kind of scanning software on the box for additional protection. Since we already have NAV for the Enterprise, we have a copy of NAV for Exchange as well. This would not cost any additional funds to get this extra protection. However, I am under the impression it's always a good idea to put a different piece of antivirus software on the Exchange server as opposed to the desktop to minimize the amount of time to retrieve updated virus definitions. In other words, if I have both NAV and Trends installed and a virus breaks out, Trends may have the definitions before NAV so we'd be better covered than if we had NAV on our Exchange server. Unfortunately Trends costs about $5000 or so (we have 350 Exchange users). Has anyone used both of these products and can help me determine whether the additional cost is worth the piece of mind? Personally I'd like to see it happen and get Trends but I'm trying to justify the cost as opposed to an already-free solution. Thanks.
