RE: MS Outlook 2000 w/Cisco VPN Client
I'm using 3.5.2b and getting the same results. Mine will not find the server first time around, so I retry the server and then it takes several minutes to sync. It is worse depending on the amount of email as well. On Cisco's networking pro forum there are several messages concerning this issue. They mentioned fiddling with the rpc arrangement in the registry or the mtu's on the vpn client neither of which worked for me. I hadn't seen the fix you mentioned for ini file. I tried to get back to the forums to get more info but they aren't working correctly at the moment. -- From: David Elebute Reply To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Sent: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 8:17 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: MS Outlook 2000 w/Cisco VPN Client Has anyone experienced the synchronization problem w/Outlook 2000 and Cisco's VPN client V 3.5.2 C? It is hanging up attempting to synchronize with our Exchange 5.5 Servers. Cisco delivered a fix; add OutlookNotify=1 to VPNClient.ini file in the program installation directory, but I tried it and still did not solve the problem. Besides upgrading to Outlook 2002, has anyone been able resolve this problem? All responses are greatly appreciated. RE: MS Outlook 2000 w/Cisco VPN Client
David, Thanks for Cisco bug ref. I'm talking to them now about this but since the CSE hasn't even mentioned the info in this thread, I'd better not get my hopes up. -- From: David Elebute Reply To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Sent: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 9:14 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: MS Outlook 2000 w/Cisco VPN Client On the Cisco site the bug is: CSCdu36579, I am going to try 3.5.1 again. I actually can work in Outlook if I stay out of the inbox and do not try to sync; great choices heh? -Original Message- From: Harty, Dave [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 11:09 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: MS Outlook 2000 w/Cisco VPN Client I'm using 3.5.2b and getting the same results. RE: Mac Clients
Ken, This article mentions some possible future mail options for Mac users. Basically, MS might add Exchange access to Entourage or produce an OSX version of Outlook. http://news.com.com/2100-1040-944313.html?tag=fd_top -- From: Ken Leyba Reply To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Sent: Wednesday, July 17, 2002 2:21 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Mac Clients We're using Windows 2000 and Exchange 5.5 and I have a few Mac OS X users. RE: MS new licensing plan Oct 1st?
No plans here either. -- From: Bob Peitzke Reply To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Sent: Tuesday, August 21, 2001 2:36 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: MS new licensing plan Oct 1st? Folks, Thanks for the responses, but what I really want to know is not when the new plan goes into effect (though that was helpful), but what your shop's response is/will be. Are you planning to buy the Upgrade Advantage for your BackOffice products? Bob Peitzke -Original Message- From: Simon Curtiss [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, August 20, 2001 8:23 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: MS new licensing plan Oct 1st? There is an exception to the rule (well maybe not an exception, but I can't think of the right word) and that is that the Backoffice CAL will no longer be available after October 1st and you will need to get CAL 'Core' packs which I believe will be more expensive. Backoffice CAL's were the cheapest way to get EX, SQL NT Cals together.
