RE: Packet filtering stops SMTP
Ok, Ok, so I read the manual and it talks about static packet filtering if the Exchange server is on the same server as your Proxy. So I read some more and Microsoft article Q181420 is a good article for Exchange on separate servers. Try it. Also, if static packet filtering is enabled on the NIC through Network NPropertiesProtocols, Enable security, IP ports and add 80, 110, and 25. And then these ports are removed from the exception list in Dynamic Packet filtering under Proxy server, will this override the dynamic opening and closing of ports by Proxy server because it is at a lower level so to speak?? When dynamic packet filtering is enabled and the exception list is set up, are the exceptions entered allowed dynamic access or static access? I have set up exceptions for ports 80, 110 and 25 for both in and out connections and it didn't work. In the reading it says you must disable dynamic packet filtering and enable static, but does not specify if that is disable dynamic packet filtering altogether List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
