RE: what is your maximum message size in exchange 2007
For those that are using an FTP solution for large file transfers, what are you using? I am interested in an easy to use web based setup and any details would be appreciated. Based on all the feedback I think I'll bump it to 20 MB for now and let mailbox size limits handle those who choose to abuse. Attachment Filtering
I am using Ninja version 2.1.4100 and I am having a little issue with the attachment filtering policy. Some emails are getting caught as exceeding the maximum uncompressed size, even though they are far below the threshold. Compressed they are 5 MB, uncompressed they are 80 MB. Our threshold was 60 MB and I went all the way to 500 MB and it still got caught. I even removed the individual from being part of the policy and it still got caught. They are using Bzip2 compression. Any thoughts? Thanks, Kevin Kelleher ~ Ninja Email Security with Cloudmark Spam Engine Gets Image Spam ~ ~ http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Ninja~
RE: Attachment Filtering
I figured it out. The message difference was due to getting caught by a different filter. The attachment filter setting released it and there was another setting in the antivirus filter that also limited the uncompressed size. After resetting that one it was allowed through. Thanks for getting me thinking. Thanks, Kevin Kelleher From: Kelleher, Kevin Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 10:40 AM To: 'MS-Exchange Admin Issues' Subject: RE: Attachment Filtering Yes, I am sure. When getting it fresh the Quarantine reason is recipientMaximum uncompressed archive size exceeded. When I try to release it - unpacking archive failed because maximum uncompressed archive size exceeded. It is set to allow 20 attachments and these emails have 6. RE: Hanging Email in Outbox
Starting simple, I have had this issue before on Exchange 2003 and it was either the Win XP firewall or a corrupt Outlook profile. If you have the firewall on, try disabling it or adding outlook.exe to the exception list. Just an early morning thought. They've tried clicking send/receive, send another email (which goes out immediately BTW), exiting Outlook, etc...eventually it does go. I'm now experiencing it myself and quite puzzled. Any thoughts as to what's going on? It's a reply to an internal address, so I know the address is valid.
