RE: PF replication

2010-11-01 Thread Level Five - List
Its definitely not caught up, when I do a get-publicfolderstatistics command
on each server the totals are very different, the new server is missing lots
of data, a few folders are complete and many are completely empty. This
happened to me the first time, so maybe there is something corrupted on the
sending server that gets stuck. The first time I did this had similar
results, the db got to about 2gb and never replicated anything else.

Im looking to turn up some logging again to see if I can find errors.

Or maybe there really is only 2gb of PF data? Maybe your source PF store,
which indicates 12gb, has lots of white space? Does it look like there are
replicas on the target server of all folders?

As a test I made sure that all the limits were off, and i had previously

So im either missing something very basic, or im going to just extract,
delete, re-create all the pf's on the new server and manually do all

those would be appreciated .. the fact that 2 other servers are stopping
right @ 2gb makes me think there is something I didn't set correctly as far
as size or similar.

Strange about the subfolders being gone. If you want a better visual without
having to go the Exmerge route download the DigiScope product
http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp and with the DEMO license you
will be able to see anything that was hard deleted etc and then can take
action from there

Do you have Delete Item Retention turned on? If so, then the missing items
you're not seeing are probably sitting in the deleted item dumpster.

You would have to tell Exmerge to export "Items from Dumpster" in the
options for exporting if you want to export them. You will have problems
with a mailbox over 2GB in size, so I'd suggest splitting it up based on the
date of the items.

Everything seems fine, the owner lost his laptop recently and we set up a
new one, however his inbox is only showing about 2000 items, strangely they
go back in the inbox to 2007 and all his 2100 contacts are there. However,
all his subfolders are gone.

On the exchange mgr his mailbox shows 2.3GB with 18,000 items, which is
obviously not making it to the inbox. Checking OWA and trying to exmerge I
get the same few thousand items with no subfolders from the inbox.

So now Im wondering how accurate is the view Im looking at, I have never
seen this before so I thought I would punt J

For those who have had the issue of disappearing folders, are they missing in

We seem to have uncovered a strange/scary issue with some users who are
connecting to Exchange 2007 SP1 mailboxes via EWS using either Apple mail.app,
iCal or Entourage (more prevelant on mail.app and ical).

1. Users have reported inbox subfolders go missing, both from the client and
server, never to be seen again. The inbox doesn't get touched though.

2. Users on occasion are presented someone elses mailbox when giving their own
credentials

3. Users have sent messages and the FROM address is someone elses, when tracked
via Exchange it appears from the "FROM" addresses mailbox

Raised a ticket with MS but thier response was "We don't support SL". This
clearly seems like a server issue, but we can't reproduce on anything other
than SL.

Just curious if anyone else has seen any issues like this using EWS.

and how you compare it against other AV, anitmalware products. I currently use
TrendMicro and have no issues with it. It has caught most virus' that come
through and missed a few. I know VIPRE is cheaper and uses little processing
power when it runs. What i am trying to figure out is any downside to moving
over to it. I know when i used counterspy when it first came out we used to
run into problems where it would quarantine files it shouldn't have like
windows associated dll's or something like it. Has this changed? we sometime
deal with some development software and i don't want to get a bunch of calls if
the software is too aggressive after an update.

Hope that make sense. I appreciate any input you may have.

How Organizational Forms Work?

2002-03-14 Thread Exchange List

Our environment consists of Exchange 5.5/SP4 servers with OL2000 and we have
approximately 25,000 users. We currently do not allow forms to be published
to the Organizational Forms Library because of a fear of the impact it will
have on Outlook response time if there are too many forms.

Is this a legitimate fear? I can not find any Microsoft Documentation that
states why we shouldn't publish forms to the Organizational Forms Library.
And currently, this policy is stifling Outlook/Exchange development
projects.

Can anyone provide me with some advice on this issue?

Thanks in advance.
