Reject mails to ...

2002-03-19 Thread Patrick Straub

Hello

We are using Exchange 5.5 SP3 on an NT4 sp6a machine.
From time to time I get some mails to people that have left the company,
that I would like to reject. Is there a way to do this? I have seen that the
only options exchange has are to reject mails from, but not mail to.

Thanks for any input.
Patrick

RE: Reject mails to ...

Kevin

what I'm looking for is an option in exchange to do the reject. There are
some options to reject from but not reject to.
The problem I have is that I already have deleted those mailboxes, but I
have the feeling that somebody that left the company is using those old
mail adresses to login to porn sites, and as mail administrator I get the
rejected mails from exchange. So an option to automatically drop a mail sent
to one of the none existant mail adresses would be very helpfull.

Thanks for your help.
Best regards, Patrick

Do you mean reject as in non-deliver which surely can be achieved by
deleting the mailbox or accept the message and tell the original sender that
this person has left the company - this can be achieved by redirecting the
mail to a dead letter box which has a rule/event script working to send back
such a message. More details available if required.
