MailEssential 6.0 and MAPS

We're thinking about using a MAPs database with MailEssentials 6.0 on Exhange 5.5 SP3 to try and stop all the damn spam. Is anyone else using this or something similar? My only hesitation is to the amount of legitimate mail that will get dropped as compared to the amount of spam blocked. Does the MAPs type of list get most of the spam - maybe 80%? Thanks for any input.

I can't find what event ID will tell how much whitespace is in the IS after online defrag. Can someone refresh me please? Exchange 5.5 SP3
