RE: Finally 2010

2009-04-15 Thread Sauvigne, Craig M
I heard way back that 2007 was the last Exchange version to support Public
Folders. Is that still accurate? Are the PFs in 2010?

Very cool. I'm still on 2003. Since we're talking about it, what's the
anticipated release date?

Thanks.

Outbound limits?

2008-08-12 Thread Sauvigne, Craig M
We recently ran into a problem where a few users fell for phishing scams
asking for username and password. Those accounts were then used to send
out massive amounts of email. We are working on MORE education for users
but are also looking for ways to stop malicious behavior in the case
that someone falls for it again.

We currently are running Exchange 2003 with one front end and three back
end servers. Is there a way to limit the number of outgoing emails a
user can send? I have found message size limits but is there a way to
set something like 100 messages per hour? What other methods are out
there (preferably using Exchange but we are open to possibly other
products) to help combat compromised accounts?

Thanks.

RE: Hundreds of NDRs

2008-10-07 Thread Sauvigne, Craig M
I am having that happen with me right now. I have gotten over 1300
today. I have just set up a rule to move them to a subfolder so I can go
through them later just in case one of my rule terms catches a legit
message.

Exchange 2003 SP2. We occaisionaly have users who get a few NDRs over a
couple of days from reipients they did not send to because of spammers
spoofing their email address. At 12:15 I have a user who began getting
hundreds of NDRs obviously as a result of a spammer sedning out a bulk
email package. These are coming in so fast the user is having a hard
time keeping up with the deleting. Anyway to prevent this crap?

Thanks.
