Title: Message How about this one? http://members.tripodnet.nl/lcroft/osp.ziphttp://members.tripodnet.nl/lcroft/ "This patch is intended for users with MS Outlook 98 / 2000 and Service Pack 2, which includes a 'security fix' (called a security feature or enhancement by Microsoft) blocking all incoming attachments with the extensions like EXE and LNK. The problem: you can't undo the security fix, and you won't be able to open, save or forward (for example) a URL attachment after installing the service pack! Therefore, I wrote the Outlook Insecurity Patch. This patch will give you control about which file extensions will be blocked, or not. The patch will update the outllib.dll in your office folder and disable the security on specific extensions by your choice." -Original Message-From: MHR(Michael Ross) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2002 10:26 AMTo: MS-Exchange Admin IssuesSubject: wow anyone see this? Free Email Previewer/Screener For Outlook I recently went a few rounds with Microsoft Tech Support on the Outlook 2000 security patch which disallows receiving certain types of files Their response, of course, was that there was no way to fix it, but I COULD upgrade to Office XP to get a version that allows me to change those settings. No surprise, to override a Microsoft caused issue, I just have to give them more money. HOWEVER, there is another solution. A handy utility called "Chilton Preview" for Outlook gives you a nifty preview screen that allows you to retrieve any enclosures that Microsoft says you cannot get. I recommend it to anyone who has applied this patch, and wants to get to their enclosures. Setting up Exchange 2000... Head spinning...Feeling stupid
I have a small Win2k test domain going with 1 DC and I am setting up Exchange on a separate member server. I ran forestprep and domainprep then installed exchange. When I go into Active Directory Users and Computers, the existing user accounts don't have any Exchange information. When I create a new user, all the exchange settings are there. ??? I've been checking out Amazon.com for a decent starter book. Anyone have any suggestions? RE: Exchange admin
Download VNC. It's small. Fits on a floppy. http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc Install vnc on your SBS machine and run WinVNC(app mode). Give it a password. run the vnc viewer on your machine and type in the name of your server. Enter the password. Now you can administrate it as if you were sitting at the machine. -Original Message- From: Jennifer Gaylor [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2001 2:23 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Exchange admin Thanks everybody for the input, everybody basically said the same thing which of course does not work, I would have figured that out on my own if it was so easy! Unfortunately, perhaps becasue it is SBS4.5, the installation program requires that Small Business Server be installed. I was kind of hoping someone would know of some switches or something. Outlook Licenses with Exchange?
Hi, Our company is moving to Exchange and we will be purchasing Exchange 2000 cals. I read somewhere (I think on this list) that you get Outlook licenses when you by Exchange. Is this accurate? Can someone elaborate? We have a number of clients who need email but don't have Office. Scott, It will come with Exchange Client Access Licenses (how many varies), so users can connect to the Exchange server, but not for the Outlook program itself.
