TMG configuration
We are in process of implementing Exchange 2010 and plan to use Microsoft TMG for OWA/Active Sync access. We are using a Checkpoint firewall between Internet and internal network. The Checkpoint firewall has three interfaces (one in DMZ, one in internal network, and one connecting to Internet). Where should we add the TMG server? At DMZ with one single NIC? At DMZ with one NIC in DMZ and a second NIC in internal network? What is the best way to add the TMG to our current network configuration? Thanks. Collecting Outlook profile information
Is there any tool (running at a single server and scan the PC remotely) I can use to create a report of every user's Outlook setting at their local PCs. Our .pst files are everywhere and we want to find out where these files are located and who are accessing these pst files when they open their Outlook 2007. We are running Exchange 2003 and Outlook2007. We are in the process of migrating to Exchange 2010 and .pst file is a big headache to us. What should we do about those .pst files? We don't know where those files are located and how the users are connecting to those files. What is the best strategy to handle those pst files during the migration? Thanks. P2v - from a physical Dell server to a VMware virtual server
We plan to perform a p2v on our Exchange 2003 server because the hardware warranty will be expired soon. Is there any issue of performing p2v on Exchange server? Thanks. Henry Shih City of Livermore www.ci.livermore.ca.us
p2v on production Exchange server (a physical Dell server)
What do you think? The hardware warranty on our 2003 Exchange server will be expired soon and can't be renewed. The idea is to make a copy of the server (perform a p2v) at VMware. In case of Dell server failure, we can restore the information store onto that virtual server (the copy) and put it into production. We can have at least a identical server to restore the database quickly without fixing the physical server. Thanks. Henry Shih System Administrator www.ci.livermore.ca.us
P2V on Exchange 2003
Are there any issues or problems while performing VMware P2V on the physical Exchange server? Do you have to stop the Exchange databases before the P2V? Thanks. Henry Shih System Administrator www.ci.livermore.ca.us
