RE: Exchange 2007 to 2010 move mailbox issue???

2011-05-06 Thread Smith, Adam
We have found that you need to have the 'on fast networks' setting checked.
This will enable HTTPS connections for all networks.
In the accounts settings on More Settings choose connections/Exchange Proxy
Settings.

Subject: Exchange 2007 to 2010 move mailbox issue???

We just upgraded from Exchange 2007 to 2010. I moved a mailbox (Local Move
Request). During the move Outlook remained operational and seamless. However
once the mailbox move was complete Outlook went into a disconnected state. It
didn't seem to matter if I restarted Outlook or not, it stayed disconnected. I
gave up on it and somewhere between 30 and 60 mins it just started working.
This was all done on the LAN.

We are running RPC over HTTP. I checked the connection status when it was
disconnected and it was still trying to connect to the old 2007 mailbox server
(CCR).

Then I tried moving another mailbox. The computer running Outlook was remote.
It has been an 90 mins and Outlook is still disconnected.

I tired updating the Offline address book, and forced AD replication. No luck.
During the conversion I did disable OutlookAnywhere on the 2007 server as
recommend by Microsoft. Should I re-enable it?

Any idea on how to get this working?

Thanks,
Andy

Subject: Calendar Commands

I've tried my best Google wizardry but I'm coming up a croppa'

So my question is can I, and if so how do I, form the exchange server (via GUI
or shell) list on a users mailbox who they have shared their calendar with and
then secondly change that, so add in another user who is aloud to add events.
Also, to make this even better then add that calendar to that users mailbox so
when they open outlook they see the addition calendar?

Many thanks.

RE: emails appearing in Outbox?

2011-02-02 Thread Smith, Adam
I have seen this, they should only see them in online mode or OWA. Microsoft
has addressed this issue in an office update I think (not sure which one) but
it didn't cure our issues. In all of our cases, the items that are in the
outbox have been successfully sent and are also in the sent items. You should
be able to safely empty the outbox of the affected users.

You can see which mailboxes have items in the outbox by running this powershell
command:
Get-mailbox -resultsize unlimited | % {Get-MailboxFolderStatistics $_
-FolderScope outbox} | Sort-Object -Descending ItemsInFolder | ft -AutoSize
Identity, servername, ItemsInFolder

I just had 3 users report that they had between 50 and 200 emails appear in
their Outbox for no reason. We are on Exchange 2007 and using Outlook 2007 or
2010. I've never seen this before.

Has anyone else seen or know what could cause this issue?

Thanks,

If you use out-file -width 'some number' you can set the width ( you might have
to play with the value a little).

I suspect this is trivial but I am having trouble locating the answer and hope
one of our list experts can point me in the right direction.

I am trying to export the properties of a Send Connector in Exchange 2007 and
find that the information I wanted to retrieve is larger than what will display
on screen or even output to a file. Can someone help me with the syntax
required to get the full list of information?

Command
[PS] C:\Get-SendConnector -id OurConnectorName |fl AddressSpaces

Output
AddressSpaces : {SMTP:domain1.com;1, SMTP:domain2.com;1, {more domains followed
by} SMTP:domain16.com;1,...}

I want to replace those ellipses with the remaining domain names configured in
the connector. I'll keep digging but if anyone has the answer I would
appreciate your input.

Thanks,
   Peter Dahl.

I'm trying to find out if there is a recommendation how many e-mails max should
be kept in the Inbox, someone indicated a few hundred with no sub-folders, is
that correct?
I had a user with 47,000 she had problem syncing, I suggested to go below 5k
and now she is fine.
So are there some rules? I did not fine anything specific Googeling.

RE: Emails in Outbox

2011-01-20 Thread Smith, Adam
This has been happening to some mailboxes for a long time, the only way I know
to handle this is to have them log into OWA or online mode and empty the
outbox. In all of our experiences the message is in the sent items as well as
the outbox. You mentioned that this doesn't happen for you?

You can see which mailboxes have items in the outbox by running this powershell
command:
Get-mailbox -resultsize unlimited | % {Get-MailboxFolderStatistics $_
-FolderScope outbox} | Sort-Object -Descending ItemsInFolder | ft -AutoSize
Identity, servername, ItemsInFolder

Microsoft has stated that one of the office patches or updates was supposed to
correct this issue but it hasn't worked for us.

Thanks,

The Outlook profiles are all non-cached, and running 2007, with latest SP and
