Re: Exchange Server in a Cable Environment
I have SBC DSL for business...They have a great deal of 79.99/month for 5 static IP's and they provide the Netopia box too! I know it's twice as much as cable, but only 30 bucks more than regular DSL. If it's a business, pay the extra money and get what you want and have Exchange run the way it runs bestJust my two cents worth. :-) List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
Re: instant messaging
We turned it on for just the IT Department and Executives and it works great. We enabled the paging feature so we can send short messages through IM to a cell phone if needed. List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
Re: Doing test restore with transaction logs...
We HAD to do this. Our C:/drive failed and we had to reinstall Win2000 and rebuild everything from backup (discovering that our backup program didn't really backup all needed Exchange files). Thank God our logs were stored on the D:/ drive and MS helped us reinstall Exchange2000 to our specs and copy the logs back overtook about 5 hours and all for less than 300 bucks...what a deal! This was one time I didn't mind paying for MS support List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
Re: Doing test restore with transaction logs...
We use Retrospect by Danz...system wide. Our problem was that it didn't really backup the system state because our backup server at this location is a Mac Besides that, the software is great. There is a little program you can use to backup the system state and then restore is fine. Have experienced another restore with AD server since we discovered this minor flaw with NO hitches. Hope this helps... List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
Re: Fw: Outlook 2000
We run XP on several workstations and Outlook2000 with Exchange2000 with no problem either. I would look at hardware issues. We have all Dell workstations. List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
Re: Distribution List Delivery Issues
Not to seem too obvious, but you could send out a test email to the individual recepients and see what responses you get back, if any. That way you will know if the problem is with a user within the distribution list or the actual distribution group. List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
