Any helpful hints for deleted mailboxes?
Good morning, Outlook 98. Exchange 5.5 sp4 Our Security team deleted two mailboxes. Yep. They replied YES to the do you want to delete this mailbox message. Yep these are active mailboxes (oh yeah... one was even a Vice President.. how cool is that.) Is there anyway to get those mailboxes back? We have a good backup tape of our database. But we are very limited on our space. Any helpful hints here? Crank up your Disaster recovery procedure and restore from a known good tape backup. Recreate the mailboxes on the operational server. Once you recover the mailboxes to PST files on the recovery server you can import the data into the new mailboxes. Do you have Microsoft's DRP white paper? Did you use Offline folders? If not Just use an old pc (with enough disk space) to recreate your exchange site. Restore the information to that machine. Use exmerge to create pst files.
