We have a problems with ScanMail from TrendMicro doing something to the
Store.exe process that make it run at about 75% cpu all the time. It
also
causes the MTA to que up many messages, and user get very slow access
time.

We are using version 3.52 ScanMail for Exchange with the latest patch.
Exchange 5.5 sp4 Win NT 4.0 w/ sp6a

Has anyone ever had this problem in the past? We have been having it
for
about 3 months and so far the only way to resolve it is to reboot the
server.
Does any one have a developer contact name from Trend?

RE: Anti Virus MAPI hammering the store.exe process

2002-02-12 Thread John Matteson

There are a couple of Hot fixes available from Trend Micro that should cure
the problem. Open a ticket on the website and you should get the fixes
within a few hours.

Also, you might try upgrading from 3.52 to ver. 3.8. It gets rid of AVAPI
and does the scanning work via ESE. You won't have MAPI banging on your box
anymore.

Suggestion, should you update, do an UNINSTALL first, before installing the
new version of TREND.

I would agree with John here. MAPI scanning is going the way of the
dinosaur. Get into AVAPI at the very least, preferably ESE.
