RE: Exchange Admin Problem

2002-02-25 Thread Cross, Tom

Run admin from a different client. That will allow you to add you users for
now. If my memory serves me correctly. I've seen this happen and I was
able to kill/restart explorer and that fixed it for a while. I was forced
to finally reinstalled just the admin piece.

I run Exchange 5.5 on an NT4.0 box. Small setup, about 15 users. Just
recently every time I go into Exchange Administration I get an error
that reads:

An unexpected, unknown error has occurred.

MAPI or an unspecified service provider.
ID no: --

Any ideas how I can fix this? I cannot add any more users.. And I need
to add a new one! :)

Thanks

Do you have outlook running on this server? I will bet you that it is,
and that is probably your problem (Microsoft does not like outlook
installed on the exchange server...) The mapi spooler is toasted right
now, reboot the server all should be fine, Or from a management server
with exchange admin installed add the user.

Have you perhaps installed Outlook or some other mail client on this box?
Is the Exch admin program at the same SP as the Exch server?

Doesnt Outlook replace some of the Exchange DLLs and slap the crap out of
the server ?

RE: Exchange Admin Problem

2002-02-25 Thread Adam

Well outlook express was on the machine.. but that's about it. Removed
that and still get the problem.

How do I connect to it remotely? Not even sure I have the orig. 5.5
disks lying around anymore! Is there way to copy files from it?
