RE: Exchange admin question

2012-12-06 Thread Michael B. Smith
There are two of these.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb430765(v=exchg.141).aspx

and

Set-OrganizationConfig -MicrosoftExchangeRecipientReplyRecipient
postmaster-smtp-address

The second one does not appear to be particularly well documented. It must be a
mailbox that actually receives email.

We are moving to Exchange 2010 here. A colleague forwarded a system message
and it has it from the previous engineer here. Can someone tell me where this
is in Exchange 2010? It needs to be a generic account like HelpDesk. Sorry

Re: Exchange Admin Permission Problem

Never mind. System Policy was the answer!

Domain Admins or any other built-in admin group and I have tried logging in
as administrator, which is how exchange was installed on all these boxes.

I have a FE server and 3 BE servers. 1 of the BE servers has no
mailboxes. We are trying to Journal to a new mailbox on that server. The
only server the option to journal is NOT greyed out on is the FE server. I
have logged directly on to each server several different ways. Have
manually removed the deny send/receive permissions.

Really Jammed up here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Run admin from a different client. That will allow you to add you users for
now. If my memory serves me correctly. I've seen this happen and I was
able to kill/restart explorer and that fixed it for a while. I was forced
to finally reinstalled just the admin piece.

Run the exchange program from the exchange disk set up. It should then run.
Just install the admin program.

Install vnc on your SBS machine and run WinVNC(app mode). Give it a

Maybe get ahold of a regular exchange CD (Maybe scrounge up someone's 5.5
demo, not sure if the admin piece would time out on that or not) and try the
installing the admin off of that. As much as the overall install routine
may be customized for SBS I would think the admin program is the same and
your just having a problem with requirements that the install has.

Thanks everybody for the input, everybody basically said the same thing
which of course does not work, I would have figured that out on my own if it
was so easy! Unfortunately, perhaps becasue it is SBS4.5, the installation
program requires that Small Business Server be installed. I was kind of
hoping someone would know of some switches or something.
Please try again!!

RE: Exchange admin

2001-10-25 Thread Ellery July

Find the exchange CD. Go thorough them all you will see the exchange server
files. Copy (not load) the exchange books online (just that file).
Run the exchange program from the exchange disk set up. It should then run.
Just install the admin program.

RE: Exchange admin

2001-10-25 Thread Lyle

Even running setup.exe from disk 3 fails(
/exchsrvr/server/setup/i386/setup.exe )

I did just try running setup.exe on a Win2k workstation and it won't run on
it, wrong version of windows error. Unless you are running SBS you cann't
run the setup.

You could find someone who has a set of Exchange cd's and borrow them long
enough to install the admin program.
