It must be a mailbox that actually receives email. Run admin from a different client. That will allow you to add you users for now. If my memory serves me correctly. I've seen this happen and I was able to kill/restart explorer and that fixed it for a while. I was forced to finally reinstalled just the admin piece. Do you have outlook running on this server? I will bet you that it is, and that is probably your problem (Microsoft does not like outlook installed on the exchange server...) Well outlook express was on the machine.. but that's about it. Removed that and still get the problem. How do I connect to it remotely? Not even sure I have the orig. 5.5 disks lying around anymore! If I remember correctly SBS 4.5 has a remote admin tool built in. I never bothered trying to get it working just installed the wonderful free VNC remote control software. Download VNC. It's small. Fits on a floppy. http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc Install vnc on your SBS machine and run WinVNC(app mode). Give it a password. run the vnc viewer on your machine and type in the name of your server. Enter the password. Hi, First time on this list, pleased to meet you all :-) ... VNC is really a great tool, I use it on my LAN. But always remember: It does not provide any encryption by itself ... so using it on a non-secured line is pretty dangerous, unless you make a ssh tunnel or something similar. Maybe get ahold of a regular exchange CD (Maybe scrounge up someone's 5.5 demo, not sure if the admin piece would time out on that or not) and try the installing the admin off of that. Find the exchange CD. Go thorough them all you will see the exchange server files. Copy (not load) the exchange books online (just that file). Run the exchange program from the exchange disk set up. It should then run. Even running setup.exe from disk 3 fails( /exchsrvr/server/setup/i386/setup.exe ) I did just try running setup.exe on a Win2k workstation and it won't run on it, wrong version of windows error. Unless you are running SBS you cann't run the setup. You could find someone who has a set of Exchange cd's and borrow them long enough to install the admin program.
