I don't think it can be done, your best bet would be to backup offsite then and have the ability to restore. Geocluster was a product we were reviewing last year I know Sunbelt uses it, but at the time I don't think it handled exchange.

Subject: Exchange and Remote Exchange?

I've gotten conflicting responses from several peers around me and so I want to pose the same question to y'all.

I have this idea: We have a network with a e2k server. It is where all the mail comes in/etc...I would like for disaster recovery purposes to connect a vpn to the network. At the other end of this VPN at a remote location would be another server - E2k.

I would like the internal server to replicate itself and all messages/etc to the remote server. This could be done in real time or just once in the evenings.

Is this possible?

I was told it would be like a front end/back end and the remote server would only have 'shortcuts' pointing to the message on the main server.

I would not want the remote server to handle incoming user requests due to bandwidth constraints on VPNs (ie perhaps more cost).

In case of disaster and the main e2k blows up, I would want the remote server to be ABLE to take over (I realize I would need to setup / route IP etc). =20
