Your users actually read things that you write that
is more than 5 lines, is in Times New Roman, and is not HTML based? I send these
emails out to try and educate my users and I can not get them to read
them!!

In an effort to better serve the
employees of SARMA, ISD will begin sending out little tips now and then to
try to make your work a little easier. These will be small blurbs about
shortcuts, easy navigation, and other helpful everyday items. We hope that
  you find them useful.

  TODAY'S
  TIP:

  EMAIL

  Did you
  know??

  If
you want to send an email to another employee of SARMA, all you need to do
  is type in their name?

  You do NOT need to
  enter the email address!

  For example, to
  send Billy Hammerhead
an email, you do NOT need to type [EMAIL PROTECTED]! All you
need to type is: Billy. Yep, that is it!! The server will
do the rest for you when you hit send. This even works for your Contacts!
You can use this tip in the
web mail application (http://mail.sarma.com) and in Outlook too. Try
  it!

NOTE: The Contacts portion does NOT
  work in web mail
  (http://mail.sarma.com) but SARMA names do
  work.

Thanks for the kind words.

Answering Matthew's point, I've pretty much given up on group emails. The column I write is in print, in the regular company rag. We use fancy fonts and flashy pictures. What's interesting is that I get twice the response from the blue-collar folks as I do from the Office staff. People are always more worried about their home computers than the ones here.

Feel free to use the article if you want. I'd appreciate it if you "change the names". These people really were innocent!

Cool.  The only thing I’d change is replacing
the word “insure” with “ensure” in the third paragraph (counting your first
sentence about Kansas as the first paragraph).  If I sound anal it is only because I’ve seen that word
misused too many times—four times in the last week or so.  Only use “insure” when referring to
insurance-related items.  J
