RE: Mail relay problem

2002-04-19 Thread Benjamin Zachary

I presume you have the notifications allowed on the IMC tab of the
exchange box? Are you using the ME program as the fwd to smart host on
exchange?

 OK, here my problem.

 We're using Exchange 5.5 SP4 on NT4 SP6a
 Also running Mail essentials 5.0

I've made the necessary settings for relay problems but have ran into
 other problems. We can't send out 'o. u.t o.f o.f.f.i.c.e
notifications' and auto replies such as wrong email adress, read
 notifications and so on.

The message we get is 'no such user here or no domain for forward'

Is that a known problem for someone of you?

 Thanks

 Mark.

Exchange
2000 is supposed to be relay-secure out of the box. So unless you changed
something in the SMTP virtual server properties, then you shouldn't be
relaying.

Yah
but you are unable to send from outside the domain as well. Not a very nice
tradeoff. All my outside users now either have to use OWA or I have to open up
the anonymous on the smtp so they can continue to function.
