RE: Telneting question for smtp
My pix firewall masks smtp banners, it also only allows normal smtp command, not microsofts ESMTPwhich can be kinda a problem. Luckily not for me. RE: Telneting question for smtp
It very well might, if the device in question also proxies the SMTP (or especially the ESMTP) conversation, like a Watchguard firewall does. I've had an issue with a Watchguard firewall that really took a lot of my time until I figured it out, because of their SMTP proxy. | -Original Message- | From: Darrin J. RE: Telneting question for smtp
The Cisco PIX will do the same thing. You have to turn off the fixup protocol on the PIX to work with Exchange. hth -Original Message- From: Kurt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, June 18, 2002 12:25 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Telneting question for smtp It very well might, if the device in question also proxies the SMTP (or especially the ESMTP) conversation, like a Watchguard firewall does. RE: Telneting question for smtp
Actually no you don't, only time you need to turn it off is if you need to authenticate outside clients to your smtp.
