Question: Since Exchange keeps messages after deleting them, BUT marks them for deletion and hides them, can you turn DumpsterAlwaysOn after the fact (say a user has hard deleted a ton mail accidentally), and recover after you turn this option on for the client? In other words, can a client access deleted items that are marked as such, and hidden if the reg entry is done after the hard delete? RE: Recover deleted items (formerly Outlook something or other)
great! Thanks All... is it right to say that hidden/marked for deletion messages are cleared after a backup is run/logs purged or after retention time expires/IS maint. occurs? Thanks again!! Pat Ray Zorz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> cc: 08/17/2001 12:21 PM Subject: RE: Recover deleted items (formerly Outlook Please respond to something or other) "MS-Exchange Admin Issues" Yes, it works that way. I just had to do this earlier this week when somebody was screwing around with there Palm and synced incorrectly. Once I added the dumpsteralwayson reghack she could retrieve her deleted items. But the key is, I believe, how you have Exchange set for retention. I'm set to 10 days. -Original Message- From: Benjamin Winzenz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, August 17, 2001 12:11 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Recover deleted items (formerly Outlook something or other) Yes.
