Removing exchange 5.5 server from Exchange 2000 site

2001-09-10 Thread !ExchangeAdmin

I am in the process of removing the first exchange server from our
Exchange site. The 5.5 server is on Windows 2000 SP1, Exchange sp4.
The 2000 server is on Windows 2000 SP2, Exchange 2000 sp1. After
following the Move Mailbox method (Q259712) and Preparing for conversion
from mixed mode to native mode exchange site (Q272314) I am still seeing
problems with the Schedule+Free/Busy folder. If I shut down exchange
related services on the 5.5 server, I can no longer see meeting attendee
availability. I am confused as to why this is. I do not see any events
about replication failing in the event logs. Is there a way to confirm
that the System folders are actually replicating to the exchange 2000
server? Has anyone else had similar problems after upgrading to
exchange 2000 via the Move Mailbox method?

Thanks,

I had something similar. After moving the mailbox's and removing the
exchange 5.5 server I kept getting could not update Schedule+Free/Busy
Data. Not sure if this will work but try this: Open System Manager on
the Exchange 2k server. Go to your Public Folders section. (I don't know
exactly because it depends on what view you have set). Right Click
Public Folders and click View System Folders. Expand the Schedule+ Free
Busy item. In there you should see something like
EX:/o=something/ou=somethingelse. Right Click this and go to properties.
Then to to the Replication Tab and make sure that your Public Folder
Store is showing up in the list. If not then click Add and add your
public store.

You might want to check everything else to make sure the repication is
setup right.
