[expert] NIC problem

I tried to install a NIC d-link dfe-530TX and it didn't work. So can
someone tell me how to setup this card under Mandrake 5.3. Carl

Perhaps pppd cannot set a default route? If you have a default route
on your network card, delete it and let pppd asign a default route to
you ppp interface.

I got one for ya... why is it if I have networking installed on linux. my
ppp dialout will not work it bombs with a " ppp daemon died unexpectedly or
just won't get out on the net" I think its a permissions problem but am not
really sure. any help would be great.

[expert] Mandrake updates

  How Mandrake updates are organized? Now I see that some of RedHat
updates are merged into Mandrake distribution, some added to Mandrake
updates directory.
  But ir still lacks many of RedHat security updates (lsof, minicom, etc)
but adds 7MB wine-debug (what thats for in updates?).
