peace out.

Sorry to butt-in on this one but I have a feeling that all this is
probably due to devfs. Devfs does always create the standard device
files it has its own naming scheme. Take look at /etc/defsd.conf here's
the top few lines. I believe that Mdk comes with devfs as default maybe
its been disables or is not working properly?

Try ,within linus, running /usr/sbin/mousedrake.

that was the very first thing that I tried, with no help.
I told mousedrake I have a USB mouse (as under WinXP it is seen as a

Hi,
I had this problem the fix was to run the k3b setup program from my
user login. The config did not seem to "take" when I did it as root
after the install. This prog does seem pretty buggy to me; if you start
an audio project for example and select mp3 files after you have
selected them there is no way to refer back to what you have selected.
Still it does work for me.

Like others I want to dump using winxp and nero and K3b is very similar

I'm trying to run K3b in Gnome, some seem to be getting success with K3B
while others like my self ar'nt.
So who's is running K3b with Gnome or with KDE3.1.
The other files that K3b looks for and I cant find:-
eMovix, tccat, tcdecode, tcextract, tcprobe & tcscan

What function do they have? , and have those who have success with K3b
loaded them ?
If I can find a way of getting K3b top burn audio cd for mp3 files or
even better vcd's, the old windows machine is redundant as win4lin ver 5
can handle all the other win apps I use
TIA

Hi,
If you mean burning mp3 files to wav (cd-audio) then I can tell you
that is does this automatically. Just start an audio project, select some
mp3 files and then just burn the CD K3b converts them automatically on
the fly.

Hope this helps.

[expert] Automated Mail with Mozilla

Hi,

I'm on holiday from the 28th July (first time in years) and I don't
want to miss any mail from the lists. Does anyone know how to automate
Mozilla to do auto downloads. I know I could do a cron for the timimg
but I've no idea how to automate Mozilla Mail.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

All,

Just talked with David on the phone. (Hey! found out we are
neighbors) What seems to be happening is that when he boots into
cooker (the main version on his box.) It hangs at configuring module
dependencies. If he tries failsafe it seems to just go into a series of
loops and core dumps. We are going to try the fix again tomorrow via
the phone ... but before then, any thoughts? Tips on where what to
look for will be helpful. My problem is ... with 2 CD burners I've
worked with I have had no problems at all getting them to work from
install on. (since 7.1 if you can believe that.) So my luck leaves me
short on the trouble shooting end *grin*..
James

Hi

What kernel does he have. There was load of stuff on cooker recently
about unbootable 2.4.21 kernels. Fom memory a patched one is available
now but its short of NFS which was what was apparently causing all the
problems.
