[expert] Kernel 2.2.16, my CD-Writer HP 9300 not working...
Hi ! I have installed the new kernel 2.2.16 from mandrake update. Oh, sorry, i use MDK 7.1 ! After i had installed the new kernel, my HP-Writer 9300 doesn't work and at the "hardware checking for new thing..." he tell me that my HP-Writer 9300 isn't there anymore.. ?? Thanks ! What i don't understand is that Denis from mandrake tell me that his test with the HTP366 is good and work. But, if the patch is not apply, how he can work for his and not for me ? Suse developed the patch but it is still somewhat buggy. The other distros still hesitate to use it. Check out this link: http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm click on the Ultra66 link. Those links will explain how to install Linux onto a drive that's connected to an ATA66 controller. Civileme -- If he has WesternDigital drives, there is a floppydisk that goes with those drives. He must use the floppy to set the drives in UDMA66 mode. They won't work otherwise. Hi ! I have downloaded the brand new 7.1 and unfortunately like it predecessor my ATA/66 (HPT366) disk doesn't work !! At the IDE detection at the begining of the installation, the installation is stoped (stone) at this point. So, i have try too the SUSE 6.4 and he work very well !! Why is the problem ? It's a onboard HighPoint ATA/66 controller (M/B: Soyo 6BA +IV) I have downloaded the new Beta 3 and now i don't pass (STONED) the SCSI /IDE detection on begining of installation just before the GUI part. Bonjour !! J'essaie d'installer la Beta 2 sur ma machine, malheureusement il ne reconnait pas mon disque dur qui est en ATA/66. La Beta2 n'est pas suppose reconnaitre le ATA/66 c'est inscrit sur le site ?? Je suppose que je doit passer des parametre lors du boot (boot par le cd-rom). Quels sont ses parametres ? Merci ! Danny.
