[expert] login manager background

Hi,

Can anyone help me this is a little long but bare with me (please!)...

When login manager loads and presents the login screen the background behind
it is configurable once you login (assuming KDE) via the control centre and
then system/login manager.

Now there seems to be a bug coz when I try to change the login manager
background, it accepts my changes but loses them when I leave the
configuration screen. So:

a) has anyone else experienced this
b) does anyone know where this background info is stored. Is there a config
file I could vi?

Hi!

Does anyone know which file contains the details of the screen you see when
the login manager loads?

I want to change the background and there seems to be a bug in  kcontrol
that stops you from saving changes to the background eg if you want to
replace the blue screen with a .png or .jpg, (you can enter them but it
resets once you leave the login manager option).
