the packages are in the Mandrake-directory. openssh-2.2.0p1-7mdk.i586.rpm openssh-askpass-2.2.0p1-7mdk.i586.rpm openssh-askpass-gnome-2.2.0p1-7mdk.i586.rpm openssh-clients-2.2.0p1-7mdk.i586.rpm openssh-server-2.2.0p1-7mdk.i586.rpm mfg heiko Alberto Vecchiato wrote: > > Sorry for the dumb question, but I'd like to install ssh on my Mandrake > 7.1 system and RMPDrake doesn't show me ssh either in the installed or in > the available packages. > > Well, it would not be a problem downloading an rpm package from somewhere, > but I would have expected to find it in the standard Mdk distribution. Re: [expert] Telnet server check out
how long you've been waiting before you killed the task? it can happen, that something for the network is misconfigured. than it can take a while before you get an answer (means login prompt). i had this problem with a false gateway-adress. if the telnetserver is'nt running there should be a message like "connection refused". mfg heiko faisal wrote: > > hey now i reinstall everything now there is a diffrernt error > when i telnet it like telnet 131.107.3.1 > It says > > Trying 1311.07.3.1 > connected to 131.107.3.1. > Escape character is '^]' > _ > thats it wont take any command > then i have to exit . > Am i getting close :-) > ?? > > Thanks > for all the previous helps > Faisal > > > Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: > Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list. Re: [expert] Still telnet server not working
i would say, look for the rpm package on the CD an try to install is manually. it's on the first cd in the Mandrake/RPMS directory. change to this directory an do an: rpm -ivh telnet-server*.rpm if it says already installed ok otherwise it is installed now. mfg heiko faisal wrote: > > Yes telnet server is installed for sure .:-) Hm.. hey it is > appearing under internet program group !!! is it OK ? > > - Original Message - > From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Wednesday, October 25, 2000 8:23 AM > Subject: Re: [expert] Still telnet server not working > > > are you sure you have installed the telnet-server? it's an extra package > > which isn't installed by default! look for an rpm called > > telnet-server. or something like this. > > > > mfg heiko > > > > faisal wrote: > > > > > > Hey man i am through with this telnet server is still not working > > > > > > I have checked the /etc/inetd.conf file & telnet line is not commited > out > > > the host.allow & host .deny are fine > > > i even have reinstalled mandrake :-) > > > But . > > > > > > Tell me please how can we check that telnet server is running or not > also > > > does telnet server apper in the setup configration program under the > startup > > > programs ? > > > > > > thanks > > > Faisal > > > > > > > > > Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: > > > Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list. > > > > > > > > > > Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: > > Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list. > > > > > Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: > Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list. Re: [expert] Still telnet server not working
are you sure you have installed the telnet-server? it's an extra package which isn't installed by default! look for an rpm called telnet-server. or something like this. mfg heiko faisal wrote: > > Hey man i am through with this telnet server is still not working > > I have checked the /etc/inetd.conf file & telnet line is not commited out > the host.allow & host .deny are fine > i even have reinstalled mandrake :-) > But . > > Tell me please how can we check that telnet server is running or not also > does telnet server apper in the setup configration program under the startup > programs ? > > thanks > Faisal > > > Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: > Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list. Re: [expert] IDE RAID
this i cut from promise homepage. this means no support right now (only promise ultra66, not raid is supported i think) SUSPECT: Linux Support, RedHat, FastTrak66 QUESTION: Will the FastTrak66 work in Linux? ANSWER: There is no support for the FastTrak66 in the Linux OS. At this point, there are plans to provide such support - under the RedHat version. WHEN the support is implemented is the only remaining question. When the time comes, the drivers will be posted on our website. Re: [expert] what gets installed
hello wizaerd, you don´t have to install LM7 several times. after installation you can use i.e. kpackage to see all packages you have installed. you can see a description (and all files) for each package. packages you don´t need you can uninstall here. if the package is needed by someother you will be warned.
