It was made clear on the order page that it would be well into April before they are shipped. The end of April was suggested as a likely date for most of us. Thx, Stef Stef: My experience is that it usually takes five or six weeks from the time that a new version is released until it shows up on my doorstep. It takes a while to get the boxes made, the manuals printed, burn the CD's, stick it all together and throw it out the door. The sets can show up in brick and mortar stores a week or two earlier, but that seems to depend on where you live and which store you deal with. (IIRC, 7.1 was first displayed at WalMart; no one else had it for another week or two.) Yes, Mandrake does make a lot more money on the direct sales than they do through retail store sales, plus they get it sooner. (In case you hadn't noticed, they've already billed your credit card.) Given Mandrake's current financial situation, sooner is better. Just checked today my 9.1 pre-order placed on March the 20th, through Mandrakestore, and the status of it is still waiting to be processed, which is level 0. Does anybody know what the status of these orders is? Should I have waited for it to show up in my favorite store, instead (like I usually do)? I tend to believe that the best of situations is acheived by just downloading the distribution when it becomes available, then sending in the money as a donation.
