Heck tmb's kernels are there now... Why wait, try it now. If it works

Looks like it's a known problem. Guess ill wait until it's fixed
 in the next kernel release.

Don't be afraid to try a new kernel. Installing a new kernel, it
lives alongside the old one. Nothing is changed - you can go back to
the old one any time you want. You just get another boot option.
Try it, it's easy and safe

[expert] 9.2 usb camera

2003-10-20 Thread Larry Sword
I just installed ML 9.2. Now when connecting the camera to the usb port
the computer will do a hard lockup. The only way to recover is to
disconnect the usb camera and reboot.

I think this was previously discussed in the expert list. Problem is
that when trying to search I get the following returned:* Can not
connect to search daemon.
*
Any help would be most appreciated.

TIA

Larry

Hi Larry,

whats the name of the camera?
Did the Camera worked in 9.1?
Or does this occur with every camera you test?

I ran into that with 9.0, and my solution was to get rid of supermount and
devfs. Then things worked like they should.
