negative. yet, if you want.

depends on what kmail filter figer will let you do.

that is, i am thru playing with kmail figer. i hope to get into
kmail filters tonight. i do not know layout of structure logic.
dif em clients handle dif ways. all will accept em stream.

if you understand logic of reasoning of filter used,
then basic logic terms can be adapted gui kis.
example, i just moved from netscape 4.5 to 7.0. something
in logic of 7.0 was bombing logic of 4.5 and em was hitting
wrong files. i had just added 3 new address, 1 worked, other
2 did not. other 2 where dif 'from', and similar other.
i tested 2 bombers by making 1 change to each, each change dif.
results of next em dl run, results proved remedy and verified
new structure used.
a minor problem, all spam in 'chat' file, indicated an error
in filter argument syntax. ie, a closing ')' error leaked
spam to 'chat' file.
'spam leak' did dribble out a winner who was up set by my
reply to his post. for some reason, he did not understand
what i had written in my reply. 3 bcc that went out with
it seemed to understand, as they did not reply.
matter of fact, i think that thread went dead. lshic.

did you have any problem understanding it?

[expert] Filter question

2003-03-03 Thread Anne Wilson
In kmail I set a filter on message contains html or lthtmlgt - nothing got
filtered, so I changed it to body contains html. or lthtmlgt, which
works. However, it also traps some that are sent in both formats. Since
these display correctly for me I would rather not filter them. Is there any
way round this?

life is a bitch, then you have filters.

most i have talked with about kmail and filters,
run pre filter to be able to really do what they
are looking for.
with linux file handling ability, it can be done
where it works for all mail clients.
there are other clients that can do what you want.

jim g pre filters and uses mutt.

i have seen it discussed here several times.

good eye.

what would be best filter is that posters use only plain text.

but then, some folks may think i am predigest.

to get just 'text/plain', negate.

not in kmail filters, yet, so in generality,

try logic, will catch bitstream as well,

 'if sender EQ mandrake.net, THEN
if content-type does not contain text/plain
then put in spamdump
 or put in wtfyw
   fi
   else put in linux/mandrake
or put in wtfyw
  fi
 '
to decrease filter time, filter for what you want.

filter,
 1st
who you want NEG what you want THEN where you want
 2nd
 SEND where you want
results, all else falls thru.

there are times when negative thinking,
results positive action thru minimal effort.

I saw that, but it allowed me to type in - so I'm trying it. I'm sure that by
morning there will have been some to net, so we'll see if it caught any.
