I'm aware that the PPC version of mandrake is for G3/G4 processors, I have
it installed onto a G4 cube. I don't understand what you mean by ordinary
power mac. As far as I know there are G3's (Old World) and G4 power macs
(New World), and Linux Mandrake PPC runs on both, at least thats what the
mandrake website indicated :-)  The installation might be slightly 
different between the two but it works on my G4.  For the current moment
I don't know what that has to with the error message that I'm receiving.
I'm not exactly sure what you meant.
