Middle click, ctrl-v, and paste button in application do not work. I think the problem is not the amount of text: it is the EOF marker that is presumably at the end of the file. If that is included (e.g. via ctrl-a), the buffer will not pick it up properly. At least that is what my experimenting is indicating thus far. So far I have noted it in Quanta Plus, but I will try other KDE apps. Thanks all for the suggestions. Damon
