There may also be a port of man for the cygwin tools; I would check the cygwin web pages for that. http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/ -- -- C^2 No windows were crashed in the making of this email. I have Explore2fs. Installed and works great under NT4. You can see all the files BUT, when I go to the /local/man/man1 etc. it just shows you the man1,2,3,4, folders but no files or anything you can read. Am I in the wrong directory? From withing Linux, I can read the man pages. Under /usr/ there is nothing. Well, you could go to http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/ , it is a UNIX emulation program, and man comes as standard. You do not have to copy the directory to a FAT32 partition to be able to read it from WIN. I do think that it is singularly dangerous to write anything from win to linux, even with this tool, but reading should be (comparatively) safe. Civileme
[expert] Man page reader
Given that I've copied my /usr/man directory to a windows partition, would anyone know of a tool for Windows 98 to read man pages in this format? If there's nothing to read the files with then I'll have to accept that, it's just for the convenience of not having to dual boot into Linux every time I'm offline and I need to glimpse at a man page. Thanks, Tony
