[expert] Unsupported Via chipset ?
Hallo! I'm running MDK8.1 on an Athlon 1200 and Gigabyte GA-7DXR mobo (Amd 761 chipset); as i'm having problems with 3D acceleration i've checked and i get the following error: -- Linux agpgart interface v0.99 (c) Jeff Hartmann agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 203M agpgart: Unsupported AMD chipset (device id: 700e), you might want to try agp_try_unsupported=1. agpgart: no supported devices found. [drm] Initialized radeon 1.1.1 20010405 on minor 0 -- Can any of you help me? I'd like to be able to use only linux as possible... thanks!! ;) -- Joan Tur. Hi Joan, Why is your subject 'Unsupported Via chipset'? I do not have a solution for you but I'd like to say that I can't install MDK 8.1 nor Win2k in a Athlon 1 GHz with Asus A7V-E (chipset KT133, note it is not KT133A present in Asus A7V133, which works fine). O...this sounds like a fun one. BTW, it might help in the future to give details about the vid card. :-| it seems like about 5 months ago I heard something about an ugly bug with the radeon GPU interacting with certain chipsets a ha!
