Yes, edit /usr/bin/vncserver, the following line:
$geometry = "1024x768";
to
$geometry = "1280x1024";

you can edit the file /usr/bin/vncserver and look for the line $geometry =
"1024x768";.  Kill vncserver and that should do it.
