Almost sounds like a devfs problem, I don't use it because of problems
with my IBM microdrive.  devfs will make the device on the fly and I
am guessing that it would make another device (/dev/pilot1) if
/dev/pilot already existed.

If I reboot for any reason I find that my Visor Edge stops HotSyncing under
