The program's called CheckInstall. Due to some really embarassing mistakes I made tweaking with my browser and email client, I lost the URL (which I've stored in my browser's bookmarks) and the message that contained the advice of trying it out (and hence the name and address of the sender, but whoever you are, thanks again, kind soul).
