I generally use test-based console as default login. Sometimes I start KDE (via startx command). After I log out of KDE, "ps aux" shows (edited): fatty 1276 0.0 6.1 19936 7804 ? S 18:14 0:00 kdeinit: dcopserv fatty 1280 0.0 6.5 19896 8304 ? S 18:14 0:00 kdeinit: kded After I return overnight (without re-using KDE) these processes do not clean up after themselves. My symptoms are exactly those described at http://bugs.kde.org/db/23/23920.html _except_ I only use KDE locally. Is this behavior correct? If not, what`s the best way to solve this problem short of a recompile? What`s worse is these additional instances of kdeinit remain as more users log in and exit of KDE. I`m using kdelib-2.1.2-4mdk (which contains kdeinit), LM8.
