Some more detail would help. FYI, the new sawfish/librep/rep-gtk should be available soon (rebuilding as we speak) and I am currently running it on stock 7.1 install without helixGNOME and it works good. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED], OpenPGP key available on www.keyserver.net Freezer Burn BBS: telnet://bbs.freezer-burn.org . I kind-a got tired of trying with it and took a look at Afterstep. I'm glad it didn't work cause I'm really enjoying Afterstep. Don't know if this is standard or not. And when I logged in after the reboot I was in the enlightenment desktop. So I told it to switch to SawFish, and it said it did, but it didn't. Problem now are that all the KDE tools are inactive if I switch back to KDE's desktop. Not good. I'm considering re-installing KDE from the original disks. I just wish I could sawfish to run! I wouldn't mind seeing what it looks like, but when I try to access it thru the normal methods nothing happens. Any suggestions? -- Mark I love my Linux Box... Re: [expert] adding themes w/sawfish and helixgnome
I personally am estatic that gnome dumped enlightenment. It seemed like it was always competing with gnome (IE another screen panner, desktop background, ect ect) From the first time I used "The Windowmanager Formerly Known as Sawmill" I was in love. The themes are just as cool as enlightenment's, it's alot faster and it doesn't invade non-windowmanager functionality (Such as those panners ect). -David Talbot On Fri, 07 Jul 2000, you wrote: > Armand wrote: > > > > "Alan N." wrote: > > > > > > Has anyone had any problems adding new themes to sawfish after > > > installing helixgnome? > > [snip] > > > > > > Alan > > > > Is sawfish the default wm for helixgnome? Ignore the sawfish doc's. untar/gz the wm file into /usr/share/sawfish/themes. Will work fine. This is totally different from what the sawfish(mill) doc's say.. This should be a FAQ. Help! sawfish is the default wm for helixgnome. I encountered no problems using the Solaris-CDE Theme for GTK and the cde-Theme (from sawmill.themes.org) for sawfish. I just tar-xzf-ed it to ~/.sawfisch/themes and as soon as that could use it. Matthias

[expert] adding themes w/sawfish and helixgnome
Has anyone had any problems adding new themes to sawfish after installing helixgnome? I cannot do this now.. I'm baffled. The permissions of the files I wanted to try were different, so I changed them to be like all of the others. No luck. The themes show up in the sawfish selection but simply, do nothing.. I'm at a loss.. If anyone has ran across this, I would appreciate hearing from you.. Alan
