AHHHI think I know the problem -- you need to tell the
SCSI BIOS *not* to terminate. Since it's in the MIDDLE of
the SCSI chain (with your scanner being on the outside)
you're blocking acces to the SCANNER by terminating at the
card.

The first thing I would ask is what SCSI addresses the respective devices are
set for.

The second thing I would ask is, "What happens when your CD-R is not in the
chain?"

a Adaptec aha1520b scsi card. This card works well and is recognized trough
its bios (My CD-burner is found)
