damn konqueror! I tried what you indicated and STILL cannot do any swf with konqueror. I always get the braindead message about "unable to load netscape plugin for . Galeon works. Mozilla works. Hence, shockwave on my system works and is properly installed. Konqueror, on the other hand, is retarded and broken. I downloaded shockwave flashpalyer and installed as described... Then open konqueror and first looked all netscape/mozilla plugins.. Then opened Fileassociations and added: Into Application,General options Filename pattern:*.swf Description Shockwave Flash Embedding options:Services Preference Order added: Netscape plugin viewer. Also picked one netscape icon for showing in filesystems. Then added into Text: x-shockwave -flash Filename patterns: *.swf Description:Shockwave Flash Then into Video same as into Text... [expert] kde 3.0.3 konqueror problems
I am finding konqueror to be extremely broken in kde 3.0.3 mdk rpms (I assume that it acts equally poorly with other rpms or tarballs too). Javascript doesn't work. I have it enabled but javascript applets NEVER start or work but in galeon or mozilla they do. Shockwave doesn't work even though I have the flash plugin installed. I then installed the Shockwave 8.5 with Crossover plugin. Shockwave works in galeon and in mozilla but not in konqueror. I have checked my mimetypes and just cannot find any reason why shockwave applets don't work.
