[expert] Mandrake 8 iso problem

Thanks muchly, I'm not getting error messages at startup about not "delaying eth0", now, etc etc...And I tried lsmod and it shows that 8139too is loaded. But, I still can't connect to anything, and I'm getting, httpd won't start when I try and restart the network. It looks like everything is configured properly in the Network configuration utility, but still can't connect to websites, etc. Also, curiously, I can't ping anything, it says "ping" is not installed, even tho I thought I installed the Net utilities, did this get left out in "8.0"? So far the only problems I have is KDE seems really slow acting, (probably a KDE thing). The install went real well, but slow. 8.0 found all my devices and away we went. Yeah it is... I can't get my Video card...a cheapo 6326 with no DVD support to run decentlky, it won't find the full 8 meg... only finds 4... etc etc, and my Realtek 8139 NIC won't load either... Hard Drake finds it... but the OS doesn't seem to see it... sigh... I pulled the files off the a site in France, ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.mandrake-linux/Mandrake-devel/cooker ... so I think these are the latest.
