First its not a kernel problem.
It works fine when the system is actually running.
Since the pcmcia disk is bad (as bad as it can get)
you will have problems installing Mandrake 6 if you
are doing it using the PCMCIA slot. For exmaple over
a network or a PCMCIA CDROM.
