Thanks, Dan If you just want to start from a blank browser window (what I use as well) you need to start that way by typing; about:blank in the address bar then go to the button marked WindowConfigure View Profiles and make sure you check the box marked save URL in profile. Save profile Web Browsing or whatever then apply and close it. Next time you open Konqueror it should open the way you specified. You can fine tune or change as you like. Dirty fix. mv /usr/share/doc/HTML/index.html to the side. then vi /usr/share/doc/HTML/index.html html body /body /html and close... this gives you a blank page that loads quick. You're right, Konq's way of doing this is a little goofy. To start up blank, you can do the following: 1) start Konq 2) type about:blank in the URL bar 3) go to Window-Save View Profile Web Browser 4) (optionally) set it to save the window size 5) Hit OK If your Konq starts with the Konq splash screen, there's a short cut in the section called Tuning Tip that does all of this for you. It doesn't let you save window size (important for me since I like Konq to start maximized) but it is a little simpler.
