Dear Mr Don Here I have a laptop with Maestro sound card by ESS and I have the same trouble, but here the problem is MP3 files in KDE shell. I'm using OSS in laptop and desktop and tested in desktop (that it a CM8338 on-board card) and I don't have this problem.
