[FairfieldLife] Re: Orientation of Buildings

2015-10-12 Thread dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
There is only Aufklärung – Clearing Up. "That person is pretty clear". In a
continuum of.. Zeitalter der Aufklärung - the Age of Clearing Up., would you go
for demarcation of stages of clearing up? Like an evolution of clarity through
some spiritual practice in spiritual culture, cultivation? Or, Maybe that
someone recognizing there are degrees of clarity is an enlightenment at times
that recognizes,,re-cognizes (allowing for) clarity as a variable in the
brightness of the bulb illuminating and then what you do with that clarity. As
orientation I feel there is a place for your Western analysis here.

---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, wrote :

 You mean you aren't witnessing 24/7? ;-)

Such a view shows just how pernicious the concept of enlightenment is in so
called "spiritual culture".

Witnessing (sakshi-chaitanyam) is the very nature of human existence and human
intelligence. We are always witnessing 24/7/365. We could not exist otherwise.

 Aufklärung –Clearing Up.

There is no thing as “enlightenment” - as that term is used here on FFL. There
has never been some kind of “enlightenment” - whether such a state is
discovered, realized or attained. That also includes immediate insights or
gradual understandings. There is only Aufklärung – Clearing Up.

So what is enlightenment? There never was and never will be such a thing -
except as the title for a cultural movement in British history. This term was
used as a title for an 18th century European cultural era, which in English was
called “The Enlightenment” but originally in German was titled Zeitalter der
Aufklärung - the Age of Clearing Up.

In the past 50 years, the term “enlightenment” became a silly Neo-Hindu
neologism (i.e. post-Vivekananda). Now-a-days, Buddhists also love to use this
term as a synonym for the “kensho” or “satori” experience found in Japanese Zen
– mostly by Euro-American Buddhist writers.

Pt … don’t tell anyone but any object, state or condition that has a
beginning also has an end – by definition. “Experience”, also by definition, is
a temporary appearance to a “perceiver”. Any experience of “enlightenment”
likewise is just a transient occurrence that is judged (after the “fact”) to be
“oh-so-significant”.

Such “enlightenment” is utter make-believe. It is a yogically based
misinterpretation of Shankara’s Advaita Vedanta.

I agree. I have a lot of respect for Marshall Rosenberg, who pioneered NVC.
Many people are not even aware of how "violent" their communication is.
Rosenberg has done a huge amount of good work.

Yes, they used to call it having good manners.:-) I don't understand how
communication can be violent, unless someone is holding a weapon, or about to
assault someone else. It sounds like a bit of hyperbole. Also, when did my
choice to respond peacefully, forcefully, humorously, or silently, go away? Is
this outside influence of 'violent speech' so difficult to ignore, or modify?

This NVC process is a good reminder, and if it helps some towards
self-awareness, fine, though like most teaching, the real knowledge comes from
applying it in real world situations according to our own personalities, and
looking at the results. That is a natural result of maturity, anyway.

[FairfieldLife] Passing the TM Movement on to Next Generations X, Y, & Z

2015-10-12 Thread dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
FW: Millennials and selling to them..

The difference between Boomers and Millennials - individualistic vs.
collective (ME vs WE)

Also, that with Millennials slower and lower forming of families and less need
to show off with flashy stuff will come a slower economic growth – no need for
flashy house, car, clothing, jewelry. But they do value experiences –
restaurants, travel, bars,

“We” Versus “Me” Generation By Harry S. Dent Jr., Senior Editor, Economy &
Markets I have three step kids. Two are generation X. The youngest is
generation Y.

Just looking at them, you can tell a clear difference in their personalities
and aspirations.

My older step kids are more individualistic. The younger one is more oriented
to the group and collective interests.

It’s a fundamental difference that speaks by-and-large to both generations.

And it’s a difference we need to understand given the troublesome economic
climate we face.

You know that one of the major points of my research is that the millennial
generation will neither fully replace nor surpass the boomers the way every
single generation in history has before (not to mention the millennials are
much smaller in most developed countries).

This is something most can’t wrap their head around, because the millennial
generation is indeed larger than the boomers.

But they’re larger only in terms of total numbers. They started out with higher
birth rates and their birth surge lasted longer. However, they never have peaks
in births, adjusted for immigration, quite as high as the baby boom.

In other words, this generation will never take us to new heights in stocks, in
home buying or car buying or most sectors of our economy!

And that is more critical for their future economic impact.
The chart below comes from the seminal book Generations by William Strauss and
Neil Howe.

It shows how there are four broad personality types that emerge in two birth
waves every 80 years or so.

Here’s another point about generations most people don’t get.

Strauss and Howe went back centuries to document their findings. Their research
adds a social/political dimension to the economic cycles we’ve identified.

 See larger image
http://click2.economyandmarkets.com/t/Cg/Ey0/Fiw/ABQLeg/AAFNuQ/AAG4Aw/AQ/0OLK
What this shows is that for every birth wave that is more individualistic,
inner-directed, or me-oriented… another follows that is more conformist,
outer-directed, or we-oriented.

And each wave changes as it rises and falls.

At the start of the individualistic generation comes a rising and more dominant
“idealist” group. In our case, this is the baby boomers, and the Henry Ford
generation before them.

Then comes a declining “reactive” group, like generation X.

The idealists want to change the world radically. Throw out the baby with the
bath water! Sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll! But they also bring about major
revolutions like automobiles and personal computing.

Coming off that high, the reactives want to change the world and improve it in
more practical terms, like with the Internet and global communities.

The civics follow in the next rising birth wave. This group is more collective.
They’re all for the good of the whole. They were the Bob Hope generation, the
World War II GIs that banded together in tough times. That is the same group as
the millennials emerging today.

And when it comes down to it, these guys get the most stuff done due to their
collective instincts. That’s why Tom Brokaw called them: “The Greatest
Generation.”

The adaptives that follow them are also known as the “silents.” They’re
collective like the civics, but they’re more obedient to societal norms.
They’re “The Organization Man” in 1970s Corporate America – they believed
groups made better decisions than individuals.

We’re in another silent generation now (though it hasn’t been named), starting
in 2008 and rounding out in 2023, with declining births along the way.

A recent article in Investor’s Business Daily talked about the difference
between these individualistic and conformist generations – specifically, our

Some of them are probably IS or other militant operatives.  The Europeans
should check the migrants' profile and determine if they are indeed true

If you take a look at a world map, it would actually be faster if they
migrated to countries in North Africa such as Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia.  Or
they could have gone to Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia.
